Role and Scope of Position:Individual will manage the organization and operation of ongoing AMI operations functions for the effective and efficient operation of the highly visible and multi stakeholder Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project with specific focus on the AMI Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management System (MDMS) and AMI Communications Network. Individual will ensure the system performance and accuracy supports the needs of customer billing, energy efficiency, grid operations and grid planning. Individual will establish a new team, processes, and skills necessary to operate a real-time communications system and ensure data availability and accuracy for Eversource users. Individual will play a leadership role in standing up the AMI operations function during the procurement, design and build phase of the AMI project and will assume responsibility for ongoing management of AMI operations as the AMI system is deployed across the Massachusetts service territory. This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and hire a new Operations organization for the AMI system.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, including providing coaching, positive recognition and training as appropriate.
- Ensure implementation of AMI systems will support ongoing operations needs.
- Manage and support ongoing testing and enhancement of the AMI system.
- Oversee AMI ongoing AMI operations functions to meet business requirements for security, accuracy and timeliness of data collection and all two-way communications functions.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in support of achieving business objectives and use case optimization of AMI system.
- Prepare reporting to identify financial risk profiles and mitigation requirements.
- Ensure projects and programs are completed safely, efficiently, on time and within the established budgets.
- Work closely with Eversource Energy Delivery personnel, Legal, Regulatory Relations, Procurement, Communications and other business functions to ensure project success.
- Integrate and manage a cross functional operations team to develop appropriate project roles and responsibilities.
- Manage project contractors and/or vendors to ensure work is completed in compliance with the job specifications. Review/approve contractor and vendor timesheets and/or invoices and ensure compensation is correct and made in a timely manner.
- Manage the team’s development of a comprehensive project plan, schedule, communications plan and establishes the change control methodology.
- Coordinate the development of a detailed project budget and cash flow.
- Manage the monthly maintenance and reporting of project scope, budget and schedule.
- Manage execution of the project plan and project change control management process.
- Manage the development of and participate in the required regulatory filings.
- Provide clear, concise and comprehensive project status reports to management.
- Provide constructive feedback to other members of the project team.
- Ensure that all aspects of the assigned projects are documented and completed in accordance with company policies and all regulations and laws.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- The individual must exhibit understanding of utility operations with knowledge of advanced metering infrastructure technology preferred.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science(preferred).
Experience:
- 10 to 12 years of experience, including at least five (5) years of experience managing operating groups and familiarity with Project Management methodologies required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the utility industry is highly desirable.
Licenses & Certifications:
- ·Project Management Profession (PMP) desirable
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $156,330.00 to $173,700.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Work is performed in both office and construction site environments which requires sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office and work areas. This will require visiting multiple locations on a frequent basis in addition to addressing problems off-hours and for extended periods as assigned.

Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handle the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances, LNG plant and gas distribution.
