This position is responsible for providing energy efficiency and energy solutions project/program management and coordination services to Energy Services Companies (ESCo), distribution partners, contractors, and vendors whose primary business model revolves around energy efficiency services and energy solutions implementation across the full Eversource territory for electric and natural gas energy. This position supports the development, promotion and implementation of energy efficiency products, services, and programs to meet established goals. Regularly interacts with energy efficiency personnel, business partner sales teams, and the energy efficiency contractor and vendor eco-system to coordinate energy efficiency efforts, identify business synergies, facilitate stream-lined customer participation pathways, proactively expand business partner network, and broaden energy efficiency reach to customers.
Hiring Manager: Director, Energy Efficiency
Essential Functions
- Coordinates business partner energy efficiency, sustainability, and demand management project development and implementation activities. Establishes, shapes, and builds relationships and partnerships with assigned accounts and the Company's complex customers as well as community and business leaders.
- Develops multiple points of contact and relationships with energy efficiency, sustainability, and demand management business partner eco-system to drive energy efficiency strategic initiatives and project development
- Responsible for business partner coordination, engagement, and establishing strong business partnerships for the purpose of achieving energy efficiency production goals and other KPIs through project coordination development, and process coordination,
- Use high level selling skills to recruit and train contractors and business partners ~ Sell alongside and through various sales teams to meet KPI and other performance metrics,
- Execute strategic selling model developed by sales and marketing management and provide input to marketing/sales team on lead generating programs and then execute within designated territory to generate highly qualified inbound sales inquiries,
- Develop and maintain opportunity forecast by month and quarter with the expectation to consistently meet and/or exceed monthly and quarterly objectives with assigned resources,
- Act as a trusted partner with our contractors and business partners and the understanding of their respective organizations. Influence product and product market strategy by providing feedback on market trends that will help our partners be more competitive in the marketplace.
- Work and help our partners to be more competitive in the energy efficiency marketplace by leveraging internal business partners and resources to develop marketing plan and go to market strategies with clear objectives, for our mutual success.
- Proactively provide partner feedback that can be utilized for future product enhancements and program development. Drive and participate in the business partner engagement process including assessment of resources, project management, facilitating proactive partnership strategies, conducting charrettes for long term business partner planning and execution.
- Establishes, maintains, and broaden business relationships with Energy Services Companies, Electrical and HVAC contractors and distributors, major builders/developers, engineering, and energy efficiency project management partners,
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Experience:
- Demonstrate sales aptitude while being assertive, persistent, consultative, and comfortable working in a highly results-oriented company
- Strong project management skills - should be accustomed to managing multiple simultaneous tasks with competing deadlines
- -General building systems background and/or familiarity with peak demand reduction technologies such as batteries, ice storage, phase change materials, software, and controls for building automation systems, and active demand response. Should be familiar with how these technologies would work in a building.
Ability to interpret energy efficiency, energy demand management, renewable technologies and services and understand their application. - Ability to work across teams and with multiple constituencies with both internal and external business partners and stakeholders.
- Requires a demonstrated understanding of consultative sales and outreach/marketing strategies
Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in technical marketing, sales, project management or energy efficiency services.
- Experience and/or aptitude in consultative selling and customer outreach strategies
Licenses & Certifications:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), PE, BPI, or HERs and/or related certification desired.
