Our Team
The Project Manager, Regulatory will support a team that is dedicated to assisting the Rates, Revenue and Regulatory Requirements organization across three state jurisdictions (CT, MA, NH). The Project Manager will plan and coordinate the preparation and support of regulatory filings in partnership with various teams and managers.
The Project Manager’s contributions will focus on regulatory filings as well as new, emerging and cross functional business initiatives across Eversource’s regulated jurisdictions. Examples of project areas include regulatory activity related to grid modernization, distributed generation tariffs, electric vehicle programs, regulatory requirements related to corporate transactions and rate cases.
The role is based in Westwood, MA, or Berlin, CT
Essential Functions
Assigned to support several different regulatory initiatives and proceedings and will be expected to work closely with a variety of staff, teams and managers.
Will work under primary direction of the Manager, Regulatory Projects with secondary direction from Directors and senior leadership within the Rates and Revenue Requirements organization based on projects to which they are assigned.
Supports development of filings that establish a level of revenue requirements that supports a reasonable rate of return for shareholders. Filings are typically new cost recovery dockets, regulatory approval for new business initiatives, or rate cases. Coordinates, aligns and prepares research, testimony and supporting exhibits in collaboration with expert witnesses. Manage preparation of responses to data requests.
Supports financial, regulatory and policy research in support of regulatory activities. Research will support development of regulatory strategies, cost recovery proposals and utility business models.
Develops written reports and presentations
Works effectively as a team with others in the organization including Rate and Revenue Requirement staff in all regulated jurisdictions, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Accounting, Engineering, etc..
Handles preparation of regulatory deliverables in an ethical manner. Work products must be able to withstand challenges from opposing parties.
Work includes analyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating and documenting in a fast paced environment.
This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is frequently performed under time pressure while involving significant business commitments.
Technical Knowledge/Skills
Requires knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and industry trends in the energy sector and utility operations, including advances in technology and the resulting impact on the state and region.
Demonstrated ability in working across functional / organizational boundaries is desirable. Strong communication skills.
Familiarity with concepts related to emerging utility technologies (e.g. distributed energy, grid modernization, storage, etc.) is highly desirable. Knowledge and experience of accounting and finance principles, with application to utilities preferred.
Strong communication skills required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, closely related discipline or equivalent experience
MBA preferred.
Experience
Minimum 8+ years related experienceor the equivalent combination of educational background and relevant work experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $121,410.00 to $134,900.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
