Support Energy Management System for CONVEX. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Energy Management System (EMS) for Eversource in CT and Western MA. This includes managing the real-time applications (SCADA/EMS) such as software and communication subsystems (Front-end processors, ICCP) and associated interface equipment used to control and monitor the transmission and distribution systems. The responsibility includes modeling and supporting power system network as well as managing real time applications such as RTNET and RTCA. This is a hybrid role. Eversource uses GE as their main vendor for EMS, DMS and Power System Applications. The primary customer focus will include supporting transmission and distribution operations.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity for cross-functional interaction with other areas within transmission and distribution in CT, MA and NH. In addition, they will have the opportunity for Interaction with other Local Control Centers, ISO New England, and other Transmission owners in New England.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. A Master’s degree in engineering or management is desired.
- Individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in EMS and associated systems is desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of power system operations and control centers is preferred.
- Experience with GE's (formerly ALSTOM’s) Energy Management System (EMS) is desired.
- Utility experience is desired.
- The ability to successfully complete a background check for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Access is required.
- Will have on-call responsibility.
- Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Eight to ten years related experience
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $118,690 and the market rate is $131,880, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

As an Eversource Engineer, you'll work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. We offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the best of both worlds, working both in the office and the field on a variety of interesting projects. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handle the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances, LNG plant and gas distribution.
