Drafter (Hybrid)
11/15/2023Locations: Berlin, Connecticut
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.
Performs detailed design drafting within AutoCAD associated with the construction of or modifications to Eversource facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Develops new drawings and revises existing drawings using AutoCAD from sketches, standards, notes, verbal instruction, and other drawings.
- Draft the "as-built" condition of system facilities.
- Develops and assists in developing work sketches for approval drawings.
- Coordinates drafting effort with other drafters on large projects.
- Identifies and retrieves required drawings associated with specific assignments from the appropriate document control system (Adept, Vault, etc.)
- Proven and accomplished drafting techniques and skills required to produce detailed drawings.
- Detailed knowledge of industry accepted drafting standards, techniques, and practices.
- General knowledge of electrical systems and components or other industries such as civil, or structural.
- Ability to learn and apply computer-aided techniques for the generation of design drawings.
- Ability to apply departmental drafting standards, procedures and practices associated with the more complex assignments.
- Ability to effectively communicate issues or directions with coworkers.
- Knowledge of a drawing management system (Adept, Autodesk Vault or etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail.
- Required to perform Storm duty assignments.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Drafting program after high school preferred.
Desired Skills (Not Required)
- Familiarity with 3D drafting programs (MicroStation, Inventor, Revit, etc.)
- Familiarity with Cad programing languages (LISP, VBA, etc.)
Education:
High School Diploma required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $55,910.00 to $62,120.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.

Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handle the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances, LNG plant and gas distribution.
