Our Team:
We have an amazing opportunity to join our Gas Supply team. We are seeking to hire a Gas Settlement Analyst to perform various gas supply operational, cost, planning and reporting tasks related to gas settlement and invoice reconciliation. The role will also support associated gas supply analyses, preparation and review of regulatory filings and special projects that benefit both state territories.
This role is a focus area liaison for system integration, implementation and advancement, risk management, and internal and external audit compliance adherence and requests.
Primary duties include the preparation of monthly gas cost estimate and storage (“LNG” and “underground”) balances for “close” and gas cost reconciliation and settlement. Will also assists in retail choice system management, billing processes, maintenance and distribution of numerous reports related to gas supply operations and various filings, including the Annual Report, FERC, DOE, NGA, DOT,10K and other, ad hoc, industry filings.
The role is based on Berlin, Connecticut OR Westwood, MA - hybrid
Essential Functions:
Calculates the estimated cost of gas. Reconciles gas supply invoices to ensure accurate reporting and prepares the final cost analyses to ensure accuracy and consistency with prescribed practices. Forwards deliverables to accounting for use in the preparation of related month end reporting and filings.
Prepares and reconciles all data related to the cost of gas and related gas supply activity including LNG operations and storage balances. Performs reporting for accounting with related reconciliations regarding gas supply, pipeline and margin reporting and other adjustment filings.
Works closely with various Departments to participate in the planning and preparation analyses for regulatory filings. Prepares assigned responses to periodic regulatory inquiries and hearings regarding the purchased gas adjustment proceedings and Forecast Supply Plans.
Performs functional accounting and tracking duties to comply with Gas Supply’s assigned processes regarding the Sarbanes-Oxley federal legislation, risk management and internal/external audit compliance. Performs all necessary testing and periodic reviews. Coordinates and manages all related investigative/certification inquiries with internal and external parties.
Provides integral IT development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support, working closely with various team members and Department experts to advance automation and accuracy and achieve Departmental goals, supporting accounting, procurement, planning, and Retail Choice activities.
Analyzes relevant data anomalies and trends related to gas supply activity; Performs ad hoc analysis to support CT and MA gas supply initiatives.
Keeps current with pipeline tariffs, rate cases and other filings and maintains database.
Support Special Contract pricing, monitoring, and billing. Responsible for calculating and publishing monthly Standard Offer/Floor price for sales customer negotiations
Supports the Senior Analysts and Management as needed and supports all inquiries with internal departments.
Prepares the monthly volume reconciliation for Accounting
Prepares Capacity Invoices for Retail Choice programs and supports all inquiries with counterparties.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Strong spreadsheet, analytical and statistical skills (e.g., regression analysis, lookup & reference functions) with attention to details and deadlines
Knowledge of gas transportation, production, distribution, storage, and system operation helpful
Knowledge of contracting practices and/or procurement activities helpful
Knowledge of pipeline tariffs, and of pipeline and distribution facilities and operational characteristics
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and pipeline bulletin boards
Computer modeling skills
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $77,730.00 and the market rate is $86,370.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
