Role and Scope of Position:Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Company’s LNG/LPG Facilities. Direct, oversee and monitor all project management activities associated with LNG/LPG facility refurbishment projects.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with other Gas Directors in developing a robust, consistent and fully integrated framework of work practices ensuring the delivery of service excellence and best in class processes.
- Oversees all LNG/LPG facilities ensuring operations and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with federal and state regulatory requirements, and are always ready to perform in a manner fully supportive of the contracts negotiated by Energy Supply, and to meet customer need for supplemental gas as determined by Energy Supply or Gas Control
- Directs all projects associated with the upgrade and refurbishment of all LNG/LPG facilities in order to ensure their continued safe and reliable operations. Ensures all projects are completed within scope, on time and within budget.
- Works with other Gas Operations Directors to manage, balance and coordinate external and internal resources required to meet short- and long-term objectives and performance goals.
- Establishes and monitors goals, policies, plans, standards, performance objectives and budget for the LNG/LPG facilities in order to ensure alignment with both the Gas Organization and corporate goals.
- Must understand and adhere to the regulatory requirements unique to each state relating to supplemental gas costs, including the HOPCO GSA.
- Represents HOPCO and ES in regulatory proceedings and assumes responsibility as required for developing written responses to discovery requests that relate to LNG/LPG operations, maintenance and investments.
- Oversees development of area staff, including supervisory and craft. Develops a mindset of ownership and employee accountability for outcomes and consistent level of productivity and quality of work.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to natural gas distribution and LNG operations.
- Understanding of design and construction of gas distribution, LNG and LPG facilities and equipment, as well as the codes and regulations that govern the operation and maintenance of these systems desirable.
- Requires working knowledge of information technology and the use of the Company’s Gas Business office automation and information systems.
- Requires strong administrative, communication and leadership skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, applied science, related discipline or equivalent experience
- Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of twelve (12) years gas distribution, utility or technical experience
Licenses & Certifications:
- None
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration and work stoppage assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment but does require some time in the field to resolve complex problems and keeping up to date with their operation.
Mental Aspects:
- Work includes analyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating and documenting.
- This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results.
