Supervisor, Gas Supply Instrumentation and Regulation
10/30/2024Locations: Springfield, Massachusetts; Easthampton, Massachusetts
Plans, coordinates, and provides overall supervision to Instrumentation and Regulation personnel engaged in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Gas Supply system in multiple geographic areas. Ensures achievement of goals and objectives consistent with the Company direction including accountability of public and employee safety and O&M budgetary control. Performs the duties of Supervisor On-Call.Essential Functions:
- Provides supervision, communication, and direction for the respective area workforce.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates work assignments related to pressure management and the maintenance of distribution regulator stations, gate stations, critical valves, and telemetry cabinets including the repair and calibration of field instrumentation.
- Supervises area instrumentation and regulation activities in accordance with state, federal and industry codes as well as Company standards and policies.
- Responsible for standardization of work practices and procedures across the Company.
- Develops and implements employee safety programs and monitors employee and contractor work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conducts technical OJT and Vendor training programs for field personnel.
- Administers the agreement between the Company and the Union.
- Administers the Company’s natural gas odorization programs.
- Assumes on-call supervisory assignments as required.
- Will have storm duty assignment.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Must pass Operator Qualification tests related to job.
- Requires a high degree of technical knowledge in the area of Instrumentation and Regulation equipment.
- Thorough understanding of Instrumentation and Regulation field operations.
- Complete knowledge of Company work practices and procedures.
- Requires superior organizational project planning and communication skills.
- Familiarity with computer operations. Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Thorough knowledge of the Company-Union agreement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of experience is required.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operators License.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $116,490.00to $129,430.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
Working Conditions:
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
- Constantly exposed to gaseous atmosphere, high noise levels, traffic, construction site hazards and hazards on customer's property.
- Work is performed primarily in a field environment which requires visits to job sites daily and spending time driving to different geographic locations.
- Job may require physical work if necessary.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
