Eversource is looking for a Supervisor, Technical Training, Design Engineering located in Dorchester, MA, Springfield, MA, Berlin, CT, or Hooksett, NH. This Supervisor, Technical Training, Design Engineering will perform as an instructor to help launch careers for new-hire employees and provide continuing education for incumbent employees. Individual will be part of a team to help develop training materials, deliver interactive engaging training sessions, and design training activities to enhance learning experiences. In addition to the skills and knowledge brought to the job, individual will assist in developing new skills and knowledge that will apply adult learning theory across blended training methods in advanced training facilities. Individual will also conduct sessions to evaluate, assess, and certify employees to perform their roles knowledgeably, safely, and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
Works with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content.
Effectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.
Supervises, directs and instructs trainees during classroom and hands-on training activities.
Evaluates performance during training and follows up on students learning through field visits, observations and refresher training.
Provides updates and incorporates new procedures and revisions into training programs and reviews work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, and field personnel to provide operational input into the selection and operation on new equipment and development of new construction standards.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Requires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.
Excellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm.
Requires leadership and coaching abilities.
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel).
Working knowledge of labor contracts.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees is required.
Licenses & Certifications:
A valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required; D.O.T. is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $115,870 to $128,740, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
