Senior Supervisor, Technical Training (Electrical)
02/10/2025Locations: Dorchester, Massachusetts
1. Role and Scope of Position:This position develops and delivers technical training programs to ensure the safe, effective performance and skill development of Substation Operations, Metering, Field Design employees. Training includes instructor-led classroom, lab, and yard training incorporating both conceptual and hands-on instructional methods. Responsibilities also include assessing and evaluating employee performance and proficiency, participation in evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment, the ongoing review of standards and procedures, conducting of quality assurance audits and supervision of field employees.
At the Senior Supervisor level, in addition to the above, responsibilities include:
• Serving as the local technical lead or coach for other supervisors
• Developing and coaching other supervisors in various aspects of their role
• Authorizing re-allocation of resources in situations where conflicting priorities exist
• Driving innovation and change in business processes
• Leading area work center activities during manager absence
• Representing their manager at department, customer, and community meetings
This position will be located initially in Dorchester MA., and will move to Wareham MA over the summer.
Essential Functions:
- Works with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content.
- Effectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.
- Supervises, directs and instructs trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments.
- Evaluates performance during training and follows up on students learning through field visits, observations and refresher training.
- Provides updates and incorporates new procedures and revisions into training programs and reviews work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, field personnel to provide operational input into the selection and operation on new equipment and development of new construction standards.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.
- Working knowledge of labor contracts.
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline
Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $128220.00 to $142,470.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
