Locations: Berlin, Connecticut; Auburn, Massachusetts

The Analyst, System Integration plays a key role in the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to support business needs within Eversource Gas. This position is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, design and develop reports and dashboards using Power BI and SQL, and ensure the accurate and efficient delivery of information to drive informed decision-making.

This is a hybrid position. The first three months will be full-time in the office.

Essential Functions: 

  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with business users to understand their reporting and data analysis needs, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Data Modeling and ETL: Develop and maintain data models, utilizing Power Query (M) to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI datasets.
  • Report and Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and deploy interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI, utilizing best practices in data visualization and user experience design.
  • SQL Development: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from Oracle SQL Server databases.
  • Data Analysis and Validation: Analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and validate results to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor report performance and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for efficient data retrieval and rendering.
  • Documentation and Training: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for reports and dashboards, including data sources, calculations, and user guides. Provide training and support to end users on report usage and functionality.
  • Data Governance and Quality:  Adhere to data governance standards and contribute to data quality initiatives.
  • Stay Current:  Keep abreast of the latest Power BI features, functionalities, and best practices.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Power BI Expertise:  Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including data modeling, DAX calculations, data visualization, and report publishing.
  • SQL Proficiency:  Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and functions in Oracle SQL Server.
  • Data Analysis:  Understanding of data analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Data Visualization:  Ability to create effective and insightful data visualizations.
  • Communication Skills:  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.   
  • Three (3) to five (5) years business and technical experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.  The annual salary range for this position is $85600.00 to $95110.00, plus incentive.  Salary is commensurate with your experience.  Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which includes sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office area.
