Senior Treasury Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance (Hybrid)

Our Team:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Finance & Treasury Team. The Senior Analyst (Corporate Finance) works closely with all Eversource operating companies and internal business groups to manage the short-term and long-term financing needs of Eversource. The Senior Analyst (Corporate Finance) acts as an integral part of the Treasury Finance Team in the management, monitoring, and assessment of Eversource’s financing needs.
The role is based in Westwood, MA
Essential Functions:
Assists the Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Finance, in analyzing developments in the capital markets and Eversource financing and liquidity needs including long and short-term debt programs, equity issuances, and alternative financing structures.
Assists in long-term debt and equity issuances including the preparation and review of financial prospectuses and other documents pertaining to long-term debt and equity financings.
Evaluates the maturities of outstanding long-term debt and provides recommendations to management as to refinancing options.
Participates in the analysis of, and make recommendations for, the implementation of short-term liquidity facilities.
Assists in obtaining the necessary Board approvals for long-term financing and liquidity facilities.
Assists in the development of written testimony, interrogatory responses, and compliance filings in connection with obtaining jurisdictional regulatory commission approvals necessary for implementing long-term financing. Assists in the development of applications to FERC in connection with obtaining short-term financing.
Provides data to support, and review draft filings of, financials such as annual/quarterly reports (10-K’s and 10-Q’s) and supplemental information to assure completeness and compatibility with financing documentation. Responds to internal and external auditors’ requests as they test to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements as it relates to debt and equity.
Supports Eversource’s leasing programs including, lease vs. buy analyses, evaluation of leasing options for the companies including recommendations to management, oversight of leasing arrangements with third parties on behalf of the companies and making recommendations for enhancements to the leasing policy.
Oversee debt compliance including reporting requirements and the payment of all interest, principal, fees and expenses related to corporate finance activity.
Evaluate the creditworthiness of both potential and existing counterparties doing business with Eversource through financial statement analysis.
Support the issuance and management of credit support documents (i.e. Letters of Credit, Corporate Guarantees, Surety Bonds).
Periodically assist the Treasury Operations group by performing various analytical support activities associated with cash planning, short term cash forecasting, account reconciliations and processing accounting related journals.
Prepares, monitors, and reports expense against budget for the Treasury area.
Interacts with personnel within and outside the organization including senior management and various corporate organizations.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Thorough knowledge of the securities/capital markets
Thorough knowledge of utility finance and analytics
Working knowledge of FERC and SEC laws and regulations
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Demonstrated skill with MS Office applications (specifically Word and Excel)
Ability to multi-task and shift among multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong team leadership as well as team membership skills
Strong customer focus
Ability to use and apply sound judgment
Ability to interpret and relate complex information in a user-friendly manner
Initiative and personal ownership
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience
Masters degree is preferred
Experience:
5-8 + years’ experience in finance, financial analysis, corporate finance or other directly related experience
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
Our hybrid working schedule – 90 days in office then hybrid
Compensation and Benefits:
