Manager, Underground Transmission Line Engineering (Hybrid)
04/24/2024Locations: Westwood, Massachusetts; Hartford, Connecticut
Provide management oversight of the Underground Transmission Line Engineering teams in CT and MA. This position will require an active role in supporting the design, engineering, inspection and repair activities associated with UG transmission line capital projects and Electric Operations initiatives. This position will report to the Director, Transmission Line Engineering.Essential Functions:
- Management oversight of the underground transmission line engineering teams in CT and MA.
- Scheduling of resources, establishment of priorities and tracking of performance in support of capital projects and Electric Operations initiatives
- Oversight and development of UG transmission line project designs, specifications, material requisitions and cost estimates
- Management and execution of the underground transmission facility inspection programs
- Engineering oversight in support of emergency repairs to underground transmission facilities
- Management and execution of an asset strategy for aging underground transmission infrastructure
- Development of employees through the use of internal and external training programs, performance management and coaching
- Effective communication and interface with business units across Eversource
- Represent Eversource in a technical capacity before regulatory agencies and industry group
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong knowledge of underground transmission line engineering and design practices, material and component applicability, industry codes and standards as well as construction techniques
- Working knowledge of related design software and its application
- Established supervisory and business planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Master’s degree and Professional Engineering (PE) license desirable
Experience:
- Ten years related experience with underground engineering
- At least three years experience in management or leadership capacity preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Some strenuous walking along transmission right of way with steep slopes
- Climbing in and out of tranches at job sites
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is
$154,860.00 to $172,070.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
