2025 Summer Engineering Intern, System Reliability & Resiliency Planning
03/05/2025 Locations Westwood-MAEversource’s Resilience and Reliability group focuses on implementing a data-driven investment strategy to harden the electric transmission and distribution grid to mitigate and adapt to climate change and to enable a modern, digital and decarbonized grid. The problems that this intern position will tackle are at the crux of today’s power systems challenges; the looming impacts of climate change, rapid electrification and the penetration of renewable energy resources mandate a drastic shift in utility planning, budgeting and operations and make resilience and reliability the key to grid modernization and decarbonization.
The ideal candidate is excited about data challenges and data engineering, capable of creating automations and visualizations to extract actionable items from data and is familiar with basic optimization concepts. This intern role will regularly interact with a variety of other groups and as a result will gain valuable insights into utility operations and practices. The outcome of this internship is expected to be work eligible for publications to conferences and/ or journals.
