Stockhandler (Fully Qualified)

The Fully Qualified Stock Handler will manage the warehousing and accurate stocking of materials, ensuring seamless inventory tracking through an inventory management system. Responsibilities include preparing materials for transport, unloading, order fulfillment, and material movement within the storeroom. Essential tasks require operating forklifts and other equipment, performing manual stock handling, and coordinating with team members to maintain accuracy and material integrity. The role demands physical capability for frequent lifting and maneuvering of up to 70 pounds, ladder use for stock retrieval, and shift availability between 6 AM and 6 PM. Additionally, the candidate will utilize handheld scanners and computer systems to process inventory transactions, contributing to efficient material flow within the area work centers.

The Stock Handler will be responsible for:

• Material Handling & Stocking: Managing and stocking various materials, including accurate tracking, and reporting through an inventory management system. Duties include preparing items for loading onto trucks, unloading shipments, and restocking materials per company standards.

• Order Fulfillment: Accurately completing order requests and coordinating with team members or responsible parties to verify orders when needed. Includes ensuring that materials are prepared for daily operations and responding to inquiries about availability and accuracy.

• Equipment Operation: Operating forklifts, hand trucks, and carts to facilitate the movement of materials within the storeroom. Use of ladders is required for retrieving stock from heights as part of order-picking duties.

• Safety & Material Integrity: Identifying any damaged or potentially compromised materials and promptly reporting these to the appropriate personnel. Adherence to all Eversource safety protocols and policies is mandatory.

• Physical Requirements: Regular lifting and movement of stock, with frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 70 pounds. This position requires the physical ability to stand, walk, and handle materials throughout the shift.

• Technology Utilization: Employing handheld scanning technology and a personal computer to complete inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and basic email handling is essential.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in stock handling, materials management, and forklift operation.
  • Ability to work staggered shifts within the hours of 6 AM to 6 PM.
  • Normal working hours for this position will be from 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday unless otherwise assigned
  • Strong math & analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and capability to operate handheld scanners and an inventory management system.
  • Valid driver’s license (Active CDL B required) May be required to travel to other work centers. Reliable transportation preferred.
  • TMP Training Program: Completion of the Eversource Time Merit Progression (TMP) program or equivalent.

Notes:

• The salary range for this position starts at $47.95 and progresses in accordance with the union contract.

• The selected candidate must be available for emergency response duties as required and work in accordance with Eversource safety policies and procedures.
