General Description
Receives, tests, resets, maintains, repairs and scraps distribution transformers, reclosers, sectionalizers, regulators, oil switches, bucket liners and other associated equipment under direct supervision.
Starting Rate of Pay $36.77 per hour (effective 6/1/2024)
Job Duties
- Assists with receiving, testing, resetting, maintaining, and repairing of distribution transformers, reclosers, sectionalizers, regulators, oil switches, bucket liners and other associated equipment.
- Assists with receiving, storing, shipping, and transferring related materials, parts, and equipment.
- Assists with routine and emergency field testing, maintenance, and repairs to distribution equipment.
- Assists with processing, verifying, documenting, and inputting data to the Transformer Management System, Regulator Management System, Recloser Management System, and other associated databases.
- Assists in preparing manifests, logs, requisitions, transfers, shipping records, receiving reports, bills of lading, damage/ insurance claims and all other necessary reports related to the distribution equipment repair function.
- Operates hand and power tools and material handling equipment.
- Prepares distribution equipment for scrapping in accordance with applicable environmental policies, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable safety and environmental policies, rules, and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Vocational/Technical school certificate in Industrial Electricity or equivalent, preferred.
Experience
Related work experience or trades background, preferred.
Required Skills
Basic understanding and application of electrical distribution equipment within the electric utility industry. Mechanical aptitude, manual, and finger dexterity. The ability to communicate effectively; follow instructions; complete forms and reports; computer data entry; diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems; operate test equipment; use hand and power tools and operate material handling equipment .
