2025 Summer Field Engineering & Design Intern
10/07/2024 Locations Hooksett-NHEversource Energy is seeking a motivated college student majoring in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology who is interested in getting practical field engineering experience in electrical power distribution. The individual will report to our Hooksett Area Work Center. The responsibilities of the student will include some of the following:
Provide technical support to engineers engaged in electric utility field engineering within an operating region.
Assist in engineering for reliability and load driven projects.
Assist with field work and interface with other employee groups and customers.
Assist with computer modeling of the electrical distribution system.
Assist with other engineering related work, as requested.
Perform field visits under the guidance of qualified personnel.
The Company uses several tools to accomplish these tasks including:
Synergi Electric load flow software for system modeling (will be introduced to intern)
Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
Various corporate applications for work management and system data storage
Candidate must have the ability to speak and write fluently in English and should possess excellent judgment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Individual must have a strong desire to learn and should be in the process of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. A concentration in Electric Power Engineering is highly desired. Preference will be given to students who have finished their Junior year. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
