Coop/Intern candidates pursuing a degree in electrical engineering technology (ASET) or electrical engineer (BSEE) are welcomed to apply.

This internship is with the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Planning group responsible for the interconnection of DER projects to the Eversource electric distribution system in New Hampshire. Gathering of electric system data and DER data for review and evaluation and; determination of the DER project impact is a prime objective of DER Planning.

Successful candidates will primarily be involved with validating the company's NH distributed energy resource (DER) database (PowerClerk) to find missing data, provide input on gaps in data sources, and also confirming project statuses.  Additionally, work with other groups to ensure job aids, other databases, and engineering documentation are updated as needed.

A distributed energy resource (DER) isa small-scale energy resource that can be used to generate and store electricity.DERs can be connected to a distribution utility's wires or installed on a customer's premises.They can include:

  • Reciprocating engines

  • Combustion turbines

  • Energy storage systems

  • Hydrogenerators

  • Rooftop solar panels

  • Battery storage

  • Wind turbines

  • Fuel cells

  • Microturbines

Also opportunity to work on preparing DER pre-application reports (technical screenings), DER Fast Track Screenings, and interfacing with other engineering groups within the company to obtain technical data.
