Participates in the planning, development, scheduling, and the performance of engineering assignments related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facilities. Applies engineering practices as directed by other team members. Assumes supervisory on-call assignments as required.Essential Functions:
- Under direction, designs systems or installations to fit objectives, conforming to industry standards, guidelines and regulations of federal, state and local authorities.
- Plant systems include, but are not limited to, gas pretreatment, liquefaction, boil off gas handling, cryogenic tank storage, plant utilities, firewater, B31.3 piping systems, low and medium voltage electrical systems, and plant control systems.
- Performs site layouts and prepare necessary documents for procurement, permitting and construction.
- Specifies and procure materials and equipment. Coordinates in-house and contract labor.
- Prepares projects for bid, schedules and conducts bid meetings. Evaluate bids and initiate award of purchase orders.
- Develops and maintains field procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures, federal, state and local regulations and codes.
- Coordinates construction activities with customers, contractors, States, Municipalities and internal departments.
- Assists in the oversite of construction activities to insure specification and code compliance. Ensure compliance with field procedures and the coordination with Plant Operations.
- Reviews purchase requisitions, and invoices related to departmental activity.
- Assists in facility and gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergencies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering disciplines, plant construction, and maintenance work practices and procedures.
- Must have the ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and follow schematic drawings.
- Ability to understand basic thermodynamic and cryogenic fundamentals as they relate to LNG and LPG.
- Knowledge of applicable governmental code and regulations.
- Working knowledge of environmental requirements affecting related activities.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $92,140.00 to $102,380.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete company sponsored training programs for LNG/LPG Plant operations, LNG/LPG Operator training, fire fighting training, security training, HAZMAT training, first aid, OSHA and company specific operator qualifications.
- This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
