This is a hybrid role with the first three months in the office.

Eversource is looking for a Lead, Transmission Training located in Hartford, CT or Westwood, MA or Hooksett, NH. The Lead of Transmission Training is responsible for the strategic execution of all Transmission training programs and collaboration with Engineering on Engineering training programs. In addition, this position oversees the development, management, and support of the onboarding, learning, development, and company assimilation to support meeting the department’s development and retention goals. This role will work closely with Human Resources, Enterprise Training, and Talent Acquisition to support meeting the business unit’s early-in-career talent pipeline development and communicate with business unit management to execute the interviewing and hiring strategy. Additionally, this role will ensure the proper administration of assessment surveys to provide business unit management and Human Resources partners with the feedback needed to obtain the required resources to continually enhance the Transmission and Engineering training program experience. The Lead of Transmission Training is responsible for building a multi-year plan that is consistent with the direction of the organization and identifying the resources required to meet those goals. This role is responsible for supervising, assigning, prioritizing and directing the work performed by other trainers and staff.

Essential Functions: 

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Training Program Managers and Specialists including approve time and conducting performance reviews. Assign, prioritize, and direct the work of the training team.

  • Responsible for developing multi-year training programs that are aligned to meet the business needs and staffing plan

  • Responsible for identifying resource requirements to execute a multi-year plan and managing team performance to the budget

  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to coordinate recruiting, interviewing and hiring of development program participants

  • Communicates relevant program information to all audiences (participant, manager, organization)

  • Accountable for coordinating social engagement opportunities between employees

  • Responsible for ensuring data collection and analysis on program components and employee performance

  • Responsible to provide program progress, updates and trends to business leadership

  • Responsible to act on data to enhance program

  • Partners with Enterprise Training to drive consistency in voice of trainings that are developed by the team

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires knowledge of utility transmission system and business units’ functions

  • Requires knowledge of 70/20/10 learning theory, adult learning principles, Instructional Design and L&D best practices

  • Ability to independently develop, present, and execute new projects and initiatives through collaboration with other departments

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm.

  • Requires leadership and coaching abilities.

  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word & Excel).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:     

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience, with at least (2) years of experience leading teams and projects.

  • Experience in engineering, scheduling, construction, or project management is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $130,000 - $144,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for a fill list of benefits.      

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
