Role and Scope of Position:Responsible for managing of Eversource’s physical security program by providing leadership, direction, guidelines, and procedural framework that supports a secure environment for employees and assets. Acts as a key liaison among Eversource business units with parallel security responsibilities to ensure a well-coordinated, cohesive secure environment at Eversource.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the various activities within the Eversource Physical Security function.
- Ensures Eversource’s compliance with all applicable government regulations and requirements related to security of an electric and gas utility. This includes ensuring compliance with NERC CIP standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Oversee and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Manages business area's financials to achieve positive business results in alignment with department objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, proven management practices and industry-related legislation
- Develops relationships with governmental organizations, community leaders and other Security-related organizations to facilitate strong community relationships, leverages common goals and objectives and further the mission of Eversource.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships and communications within the Eversource leadership team to share ideas, spearhead inter-disciplinary projects and coordinate common work efforts.
- Sets the direction of the Security group based upon corporate strategy and direction and develops actionable plans with staff to achieve the established goals and objectives.
- Manages accurate, timely execution of activities and/or objectives and ensures positive impact on colleagues and customers.
- Oversees work organization and planning; provides clear communication regarding day-to-day work and/or project assignments; ensures the efficient use of resources.
- Builds capability across team(s), ensures appropriate training and cross-training, resources and support for the team(s).
- Leads Security area activities to ensure prompt customer crisis/urgent problem resolution as situations arise; seeks ways to mitigate situations so that crises and problems are minimized

- Extensive knowledge of electronic/computerized security systems
- Extensive knowledge of best practices, procedures and policies related to Corporate/Utility Security
- Extensive knowledge of criminal laws and statutes
- Law enforcement procedures understanding
- Understanding of NERC CIP Standards
- Safety practices in a corporate setting
Skills:
· Extensive resourcefulness to anticipate, define and direct solutions to complex security issues
· Extensive analytical skills including the ability to draw sound conclusions, use solid judgment and act decisively
· Spoken and written communication skills including the ability to develop and give presentations before various audience sizes at all levels of the organization
· Strong functional understanding of computerized business systems, specifically electronic/computerized security systems

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Law Enforcement, related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years related experience in a Corporate Security area is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of managerial, supervisory and/or team leadership experience is also required
- Security management experience in a utility is strongly preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
