IT Associate Systems Engineer, Data Center

Locations: East Berlin, Connecticut

Role and Scope of Position:
Under direct supervision, handles the maintenance, policy enforcement and onsite support for both corporate data centers. Assists in the support and maintenance of our Data Center management software and assigned ServiceNow modules.

Essential Functions: 


Data Center:

  • Monthly inventory updates
  • Quarterly personnel Data Center access reviews
  • Document all data center activities, store logs on data center Teams channel
  • Create change requests for major data center activities (such as power installations), represent changes in weekly CAB meeting
  • Assist with general infrastructure troubleshooting as requested
  • Assist with data center purchases as needed (data center supplies, PDUs, etc.)
  • Coordinate hardware decommissioning and e-waste disposal
  • Coordinate hardware installations with infrastructure, application and network teams
  • Assist with best practice rack management (cables, power, cooling, system distribution etc)
  • Point of contact for facilities keeping power panel schedules up to date and new power installs
  • Assist maintaining data center assets in the ServiceNow CMDB and asset database
  • Assists with analyzing business/technical and related needs and may propose suitable solutions
  • Provides technical support including trouble shooting and problem resolution

Service Delivery Support:

  • Partakes in the design, development, testing, coordination, implementation, maintenance, and administration of the DCIM application.
  • Assists with analyzing business/technical and related needs and may propose suitable solutions.
  • Creates processes and tools to enhance and streamline support and maintenance process
  • Creates revisions to existing processes, systems and procedures.
  • Conducts product research and evaluation for both data center management and ServiceNow.
  • Provides technical support including trouble shooting and problem resolution as requested.
  • IT ERP Storm support duties as assigned.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, team membership skills and
  • Good oral/written communications skills.
  • Proven track record of producing quality products to predetermined standards and specifications plus a desire to learn and apply new skills are required
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field.  General knowledge of other related disciplines.   
  • Knowledge of operating system(s) and relevant software and hardware products, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning and capacity planning

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training              

Experience:      

  • Minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of directly related experience                        

Licenses & Certifications:

  • None

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Role is fully onsite, 40 hrs/week
  • 24/7 On Call Support
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.Check out our careers site for an overview of our benefits programs. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.The annual salary range for this position is:

$72,200.00-$80,220.00
