The Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management program, including executing, and enhancing the Enterprise Risk Management process including strategic, operational, financial, and capital allocation risk evaluations, and guiding the activities of risk management personnel. This position works with cross-functional teams in each of the operating companies and corporate shared services functions to present a quantitative and qualitative risk evaluation to ensure that strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risk are identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office. 

Essential Functions

  • Produces an assessment of enterprise risks and coordinates the reporting of the organization's risk profile to the Director, ERM and the Risk Committee.  Facilitates and evaluates the enterprise-wide implementation of the Committee's directives.
  • Facilitates the knowledge transfer of enterprise risk management policies, procedures, roles and responsibilities to business units and support functions.  Educates business units in the principles and techniques of risk management.
  • Evaluates the Company’s annual and five-year budgets and enterprise business plans and develops and facilitates processes to ensure that key strategic, financial and operational risks are evaluated during the construction of those plans, and that risk owners are assigned to, and mitigation plans are developed for key risks.
  • Monitor risk status by developing risk monitoring processes, including predictive, weighted key risk indicators, to ensure ongoing compliance with established risk policies and for risk owners to provide periodic status updates of risks and mitigation activities, which are reported to the Risk Committee.
  • Manage the business risk liaison program.
  • Working with project teams, plan and execute capital project risk assessments for large capital projects.
  • Evaluates risk mitigation plans and assists line and staff management in their development of mitigation plans.
  • Manages the staffing, training, and development of risk management personnel.  Assesses and modifies core competencies.
  • Evaluates the enterprise risk management function in relation to industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Knowledge and expertise in enterprise risk management with respect to energy markets, physical energy assets and financial products. 
  • Knowledge of the energy transmission, distribution, and marketing industry. 
  • Knowledge of finance, and analytics. 
  • Ability to anticipate, define and manage solutions to complex, inter-related risk management, finance and /or regulatory issues. 
  • Must be able to facilitate discussions, gain consensus, develop action plans, and drive implementation. 
  • Ability to think and act strategically in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities. 
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to prepare and review clear written communication/documentation of the organizations risks, mitigation plans and risk management strategies for management.
  • Strong customer focus. Strong team membership as well as team building skills.
  • Ability to institute, where applicable, current best practices in management.
  • Ability and willingness to manage change as needed.
  • Strong presentation skills.

Education:                            

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related operations, planning and/or risk management is required. 
  • Advanced degree or risk related certification preferred.

Experience:                           

  •  Ten (10) plus years of related experience is required.  At least 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $141,930 - $157,700 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
