Role and Scope of Position:This position develops and conducts technical training programs to ensure the safe and effective.
performance of the Electric Operations, Gas Operations. Training includes both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and hands-on instructional methods. Responsibilities would also include participation in evaluation of new training methods training materials, and equipment. The ongoing revision and maintenance of training and compliance standards and procedures. Evaluation and certification of field employees in forklift, hoisting and rigging and driver qualification program.
Essential Functions:
- Training, initial qualification and requalification for Forklift operation.
- Training, qualification for hoisting and rigging. Boom truck and crane operation.
- Effectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.
- Administrate driver training and qualification program for required employees.
- Supervises, directs, and instructs trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments.
- Evaluates performance during training and follows up on students learning through field visits, and refresher training.
- Provides updates and incorporates new procedures and revisions into training programs and reviews work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, field personnel to provide operational support.
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires knowledge of operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm.
- Requires leadership and coaching abilities.
- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Knowledge of Federal motor Carrier rules and regulations (FMCSA) in regard to driver qualification.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements regarding Forklifts, boom trucks, mobile cranes and overhead cranes.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in training, development of employees.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid state driver’s license. Class A CDL with no restrictions preferred or ability to acquire and maintain Class A CDL.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $115870.00 to $128,740.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
