IT Engineer, Security (Hybrid)
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Our Team
Under general supervision, responsible for the administration and support of security system software/hardware either at the Enterprise, Mid-Range or Desktop levels. Knowledge requirements include security principles, theories and concepts at a network and/or application layer, and access control technologies such as firewalls, content scanners, usage monitors, encryption, VPN and wireless. Provides technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades or changes to security system software and hardware, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to any associated operating systems. Ensures stable performance of relevant security related hardware/software for the enterprise through performance monitoring and tuning and performs capacity planning. Ensures system maintenance as well as high level support of the operating system and all the related security software and hardware components. Plans and implements software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
This position can sit out of our Berlin CT location.

Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Security Principles & Technology
(Should know 50% of these): Knowledge in: administration functions of primary security products; ability to integrate primary products into overall security program; access control systems; and security models, principles and concepts.
Maintenance & Monitoring
(Should know 50% of these): Knowledge in primary security products for: monitoring performance & tuning; installation & configuration; and implementing customizations.
Knowledge in security scanning tools.
Related Skills/Knowledge
(from other domains) Working knowledge of operating systems, networking, databases, browser technology, programming, and IT general control processes.
Tech Support: Skill in day to day issues: problem solving, change management, etc.
Project Management: Working knowledge and expertise of General Project Management.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience

Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
