The Assistant Treasurer, Investment Management directs the investment management activities of Eversource various pension and trust investments.Essential Functions:
- Overseeing the creation of investment policy and strategy
- Overseeing the analysis and monitoring of the company’s investment portfolios
- Overseeing the analysis, selection and monitoring of investment managers and products (including private equity and hedge funds)
- Overseeing evaluation and selection of Trustees
- Overseeing the asset allocation activities among major investment classes such as domestic and international equities, large and small cap companies, value and growth companies, fixed income, private equity and other investment strategies
- Overseeing the investment selections for the company’s 401(k) programs
- Working with senior management and various external parties including investment managers, investment advisors, actuaries and investment bankers

- Knowledge related to accounting for investment instruments
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation techniques
- Knowledge and experience with financial management procedures and techniques

- Ability to effectively lead, manage and develop a diverse workforce
- Extensive analytical skills including the ability to draw sound conclusions from data and act decisively
- Ability to use and apply sound judgment
- Ability to think and act strategically with a strong understanding of short-and long-term consequences of financial decisions
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization and with counterparts in external organizations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to institute, where applicable, current best practices in management
- Ability and willingness to initiate and manage change as needed
- Demonstrated skill with MS Office applications (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated initiative and personal ownership
- Utility industry experience preferred
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a closely related discipline and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation OR an MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics or a closely related discipline.
- The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience required which includes managerial experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
- The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing and typing. Work involves using a computer and telephone as well as personal communication. Job can require some traveling to local, regional and national regulatory proceedings and professional activities.
Mental Aspects:
Work includes researching, analyzing, writing and public speaking. This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results.
