Role and Scope of Position:The IT Analyst, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will support the deployment of scalable infrastructure, reusable components, and integrations supporting our enterprise-wide AI tools and platforms. This role will play a key part in building out our internal AI Hub intelligence augmentation capabilities, with a focus on enabling and expanding our enterprise Microsoft Copilot Chat and ChatGPT platform, internal Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools, and long-term service capabilities. The role contributes to the planning, financing, implementation, and scaling of core AI services that support intelligence augmentation across the business. It focuses on operating, optimizing, and analyzing AI systems and operations to enhance business performance.
Essential Functions:
- Support the design, develop, and maintain AI Hub intelligent augmentation tools and implement strategies
- Build scalable frameworks and shared services to support secure, compliant GenAI use across Eversource.
- Support custom development of AI-powered applications, tools, and endpoints supporting internal teams and users.
- Drive to enable and extend Enterprise ChatGPT and custom GPT capabilities (e.g., RAG, vector search, plugins).
- Implement scalable systems that follow security, monitoring, and cost optimization best practices.
- Partner with AI Architects, DevOps, and Eversource Architects to define infrastructure standards and deployments.
- Implement observability into AI services (e.g., logging, telemetry, performance metrics) to ensure maintainability and traceability.
- Evaluate and assess solutions with external APIs, AI model providers, and data services.
- Contribute to documentation and support knowledge transfer across engineering and AI delivery teams.
- Stay current on emerging trends in MLOps, LLM integration, and AI infrastructure scaling strategies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Familiarity with AI models and deployment best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
- Familiarity with capital project management, design, and approvals.
- Ability to learn debugging, testing, and documentation skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong analytics background, a understanding of cloud-native infrastructure (Azure preferred), and hands-on experience working with AI models, APIs, or platform.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1+ year focused on AI exposure.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms, OpenAI or MS Copilot Chat.
- Deep familiarity with cloud-native architectures (preferably Azure).
- Experience working in an Utility IT Department.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Azure Fundamentals Certification
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
