In this role within the Energy Efficiency department, you will oversee the Income Eligible Single-Family program (“IE SF”). The IE SF program is the flagship Mass Save program for delivering energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions, at no-cost, to low-income 1-4 unit households. This position is responsible for the overall management of the IE SF program and accountable for the performance of the contracted lead implementation vendor. Successful program management involves coordinating with other Mass Save program Sponsors and energy efficiency service providers through a statewide approach. You will be responsible for ensuring that the electric and natural gas programs for this customer segment are deployed in a customer-centric and cost-efficient manner that drives high levels of customer participation while also ensuring internal and external expectations for service delivery are met.
As an Energy Efficiency Consultant, you will be accountable for the performance of the lead implementation vendor, Action for Boston Community Development (“ABCD”), who is in turn responsible for ensuring consistent service delivery across the network of agencies, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the Eversource territories. Core program services include but are not limited to home energy assessments, appliance replacement, home weatherization, window replacement, heating system replacement, heat pump installation, water heater replacement, general energy efficiency and decarbonization education, and health and safety repairs. The delivery network includes Community Action Program (“CAP”) agencies, Home Performance Contractors (“HPCs”), and subcontracted trade partners. You will also be responsible for regular engagement and coordination with internal stakeholders including, residential implementation, marketing and evaluation teams, working group peers from other Mass Save Sponsor utilities, and external stakeholders such as our customers, state agencies, regulators, and others.

Financial Parameters
- The IE SF program includes a total annual budget approaching $100 million; this role comes with significant financial responsibility.
- In this role you will be responsible for the quantitative and qualitative review of regular production reporting batches containing tens to hundreds of recently completed projects.
- In this role you will be is responsible for the approval of bi-weekly or monthly invoices, tied to the aforementioned reporting batches, often exceeding $1 million per invoice.
- In this role you will meet regularly with leadership and other team members to inform production and spend projections and to design program policy changes to maximize cost-efficiency and achieve program goals.
Essential Functions
- Represent Eversource in all IE program meetings and working groups with internal staff, counterparts from other Mass Save Sponsors, implementation and evaluation vendors.
- Manage Eversource’s relationship with ABCD and monitor their performance under their lead vendor contract.
- Be the subject matter expert for the IE SF program in all forums, internal and external, including representing the strategic interests of the IE SF program at the Management Committee level.
- Provide guidance and make decisions considering both near- and long-term implications, with technical, financial, and/or practical justification, and be able to articulate and defend that reasoning.
- Serve as a resource to peers and other staff.
- Engage with stakeholders, communities, and special interest groups on program implementation, development, and planning efforts.
- Support the 3-Year planning process as subject matter expert and contribute to the drafting process.
- Lead in the implementation of planned program offerings and strategies.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and engage stakeholders to ensure all resultant improvements are delivered on time, on budget and within scope approved by management.
- Directly responsible for the budgeting, invoicing and tracking of expenses and energy savings.
Qualification
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong business and operations management skills
- Strong analytical skills: ability to identify, analyze, and solve
- Demonstrates strategic thinking and leadership, mentoring, and networking skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal, in collaborative or working group settings, and written, in providing guidance and direction and in strategic planning efforts

- Goal and objective-driven, including adeptness with removing obstacles and barriers while remaining collaborative with many internal and external stakeholders – able to lead in a team setting
- Driven to approach opportunities for improvement creatively and to generate and act on new ideas with the objective of improving the efficacy of programs
- Strong knowledge of energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies and understanding their application(s)
- Fundamental understanding of financial principals and the ability to manage data and information in MS Office applications and the Salesforce platform
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to make decisions based on both logical reasoning and data-driven insight
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Energy and Sustainability, a related discipline or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in energy efficiency.
- Prior leadership experience strongly preferred
- Aptitude in development and implementation of programs, demonstrated success in a goal-based performance framework
- Experience in communication at various levels of organizations, companies, and institutions
- Experience and/or aptitude in customer service
Licenses & Certifications:
- Relevant energy efficiency certifications encouraged (e.g., BPI, CEM, BEP)
