Role and Scope of Position:This position has responsibility for the strategic direction, execution, and governance of the Eversource’s Enterprise data strategy. It requires close collaboration with business partners across the entire enterprise.
HYBRID WORK POLICY
Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature ofworkand team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject tochange, basedon managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able towork up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Eversource’s enterprise-wide data and information governance, control, policy development and effective exploitation of data to deliver business outcomes
- Partnering with business leaders to understand data needs and use cases, prioritizing those needs and driving the availability of data for analytics while protecting it and reducing risks related to it
- Develop, own and drive data vision, strategy, and roadmap for the enterprise and enable data and AI-driven business transformation including AMI
- Work collaboratively across the organization to leverage the Company’s strengths and opportunities to motivate cross-functional participation in the development and implementation of AMI/CIS.
- Integrate and direct a cross-functional project team responsible for all aspects of implementation of a varied and complex portfolio of AMI and CIS deployment activities.
- Communicate vision and objectives of AMI/CIS project management organization to internal and external audiences, including senior leadership.
- Break down silos to promote data literacy across the organization and establish responsibility and ownership for data quality and security
- Lead data architecture design and enable industry leading data engineering solutions and tools to help democratize data access across Eversource and enable AI/ML for business
- Hire, coach, and mentor the talent required to build and maintain a best-in-class data team; Drive ongoing learning to stay ahead of latest trends
- Develop and manage data KPIs/OKRs and lead monthly reviews with executive leadership to align on value add and future needs
- Own and drive data governance processes and tools to continue to simplify data access while ensuring data quality, literacy, and security
- Directs the research, analysis and design of solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
- Develops and maintains collaborative, high-level relationships with business areas and vendors.
- Lead a dynamic team comprised of both insourced and outsourced resources and across multiple domains.
- Responsible for department financial resources.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires practical knowledge of strategic and tactical planning.
- Experience developing and implementing Enterprise-wide data strategies and governance
- Knowledge in applications development and support along with excellent communications skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years of related experience of increasing responsibility in managing one or more major information processing functions.
- Must have at least 5+ years of experience working in an IT outsourced mode
- At least 10 years of experience working on large, complex IT projects.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Certification in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
