IT Major Program, Architecture Internship.Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Massachusetts Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployment. This role will work closely with the Architecture and Business Analyst teams to assist in the execution of key project tasks, including reporting, environment validation, and cost analysis. The intern will gain hands-on experience with enterprise technologies and contribute to the successful implementation of AMI across the state.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting & Visualization:
Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and SharePoint to support project tracking and executive updates.
Assist in data gathering and visualization to support business analysis and decision-making.
Cloud Architecture Support:
Review Azure components used in the AMI solution, including resource groups, services, and configurations.
Analyze and report on Azure cost management data to identify optimization opportunities.
Environment Validation:
Verify correctness and stability of development, test, and production environments.
Support environment documentation and assist in identifying discrepancies or risks.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Participate in meetings with Architecture, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
Assist with ad hoc tasks as they arise, including documentation, data validation, and process improvement initiatives.
Presentation & Communication Support:
Create PowerPoint presentations and technical diagrams to communicate architecture, environment status, and project updates to key stakeholders.
Support the development of visual materials for leadership reviews and cross-functional meetings.
Data Quality & Productivity Tools:
Conduct basic data analysis to assess and improve data quality across AMI systems.
Assist in building productivity tools (e.g., Python scripts or Excel macros) to automate data quality verification and reporting.
Collaborate with Business Analysts to identify data issues and propose solutions.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, SharePoint, and Azure preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Learning Opportunities:
Exposure to enterprise-level AMI deployment and utility operations.
Hands-on experience with cloud architecture and data reporting tools.
Mentorship from experienced professionals in IT Architecture and Business Analysis.
Interns are paid through our Managed Service Provider Program and are not employees of Eversource. Pay rates are hourly, based on year of graduation and if the role is technical or non-technical. Rates start at $18.12 for a non-technical freshman and go up to $41.82 for a technical PhD.
