Supervisor, Clean Technologies, Gas (Hybrid)

Responsible for the supervision of developing, executing, and monitoring the implementation of clean technologies projects, including but not limited to, geothermal, hydrogen, methane reductions, and renewable natural gas. The role will involve successfully bringing these projects from the concept/feasibility level to in-service, including modeling, detailed engineering efforts, project financing, project management, and contracting efforts related to the projects. The role will involve assessing the success of such projects as a business line for Eversource Energy including how well the projects safely, reliably, and affordably deliver customers energy while also advancing meaningful environmental benefits or emissions reductions. This role will monitor, assess, and report any budget and schedule for these projects, including any dedicated staffing, consultants, and contractors. The Clean Technologies Supervisor would be expected to collaborate well internally with the gas and electric business units, other internal groups, and other external partners, including regulatory agencies, key stakeholders, contractors, and industry groups, to bring projects to fruition. This position is responsible for supervising, assigning, prioritizing, and directing work performed by its staff.

This is a hybrid position. The first three months are full-time in the office.

Essential Functions: 

•     Ensures projects are conducted in a manner consistent with the Company’s safety and procurement policies and programs.

•     Responsible for supervising clean technologies development, implementation and driving collaboration and results across multifaceted organizations internally and externally.

•     Develops budget estimates, scope of work, equipment recommendations, schedules, and evaluations necessary for Clean Technologies projects.

•     Oversees applicable bids, design, budget, timelines, contractual compliance, and related recommendations for Clean Technologies projects including the efforts of any third-party. contractor(s).

•     Oversees, monitors, tracks all program activities including but not limited to, field construction, invoicing, and applicable to O&M and third-party contractor(s).

•     Provides technical support and direction to operating areas relative to system priorities, engineering guidelines, and operating decisions during normal and emergency situations.

•     Accountable for root cause analysis, development, and implementation of corrective actions.

•     Manages processes and workflows to obtain appropriate levels of management approval for all implementation opportunities in accordance with Company policies.

•     Assist in development of reports, filings and responses that are required for any regulator (MA Department of Public Utilities/CT PURA) and other agencies, which can include projections, timelines, contractor selections, etc.

•     Represents Eversource at public meetings, regulatory hearings, town hall meetings and any special meetings that may occur.

•     Oversees, directs, and guides staff and consultants to meet Company goals and objectives.

•     Supervises project managers, approves time, and conducts performance reviews.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Understanding of clean technology options and the varied rules which govern the industry.
  • Excellent project management skills, business acumen and technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work across the organization and build team consensus, as well as negotiation skills, needed to influence both internal and external constituencies to meet Company objectives.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials Science, Laboratory Science, Process Safety) required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:             

  • Minimum of 8 years of related technical, engineering and / or general construction experience are required.
  • Knowledge of utility distribution systems networked geothermal, hydrogen and/or renewable natural gas preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Ability to become Operator Qualified under the DOT Program
  • A Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • PMP Project Management Professional preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position, the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.

$130,480.00-$144,980.00
