This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.The Manager, Business Continuity & Threat Assessment works closely with key stakeholders across the company to ensure that business continuity, disaster recovery and threat assessment programs are in place & executed, in coordination with the Eversource All Hazards Emergency Response Plan. This manager serves as the internal subject matter expert for business continuity and threat assessment, and the interface with technology for Disaster Recovery planning.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as an internal BC subject matter expert and assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of all components of the BC Program in adherence to BC industry standards and Eversource’s AHERP. Program components include but are not limited to:
- BC program governance policies and standards
- Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
- BC Plan development
- BC Exercises
- BC program services, processes and tools (i.e., BC planning software)
- Training and awareness
- BC program monitoring and reporting
- Audit and compliance adherence
- Work continuation planning for work stoppages
- Incident response
- Educates stakeholders to instantiate contingency planning into the company’s business processes supporting a culture of preparedness and risk mitigation.
- Develops and executes related workshops and exercises for the Business Continuity Coordinator network and leadership teams.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for related NERC standards including developing and maintaining procedures, periodic reviews, and associated audit support.
- Serves as subject matter expert for business continuity and disaster recovery related regulatory requirements and standards.
- Develops & maintains threat assessment processes to ensure intelligence is properly vetted, shared mitigated, tracked to completion and trended, etc.
- Participates in industry workshops and forums to provide industry leadership and maintain an awareness of industry best practices.
- Educates stakeholders on integrating contingency planning into the company’s business processes supporting a culture of preparedness and risk mitigation.
- Conducts annual BIA and BC Plan reviews along with responding to and supporting audit and compliance requests.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Expert level knowledge in: disaster recovery technology and processes (Information Technology); business continuity practices; business practices, emergency response practices; threat intelligence gathering and assessment for routing to mitigation processes internally. Electric and gas utility infrastructure knowledge is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Emergency Management or equivalent experience is required. Master’s degree in Business or Emergency Management is preferred.
Experience:
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience with Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery programs and/or emergency preparedness programs.
- Familiarity with Information Technology used to meet utility business requirements. ServiceNow- BCM experience is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Motor Vehicle License is required.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), equivalent certification, or higher is preferred. Must be willing to obtain certification within a timeframe established by the hiring manager.
- Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) experience is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment with a moderately quiet noise level, that requires sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office area.
