06/24/2025Locations: South Hooksett, New Hampshire
This is a hybrid position. The first three months are full-time in the office.
This position has the responsibility for the development and implementation of plans and procedures for the testing and commissioning of highly complex transmission and distribution substation projects. In addition, you will work closely with stakeholders including Project Management, Protection & Controls Engineering and Test in the development of project test and commissioning plans with a focus on ensuring safety and eliminating issues and errors during the commissioning process. This position is responsible for commissioning of substation equipment as individual units (breakers, transformers, etc.) as well as overall project commission including controls, systems, relays, metering, etc. This position may also provide technical and administrative guidance to Commissioning Engineers in the field.
Essential Functios:
Responsible for assisting in the development of standards and procedures for the successful testing and commissioning of Transmission & Distribution (HV & MV) substation projects.
Responsible for oversight to ensure substation projects are successfully tested and commissioned in accordance with industry and Eversource standards with a high focus on safety and human performance while maintaining system reliability.
Responsible for project test data review, collection, and acceptance.
Collaborates effectively with other engineers across the Engineering organization to ensure consistency and teamwork.
Responsible for assisting in the development and/or training of less experienced team members.
Accountable for root-cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions relating to project commissioning.
Responsible for project audits to ensure safety, human performance and compliance with standards and work methods are being met.
Performs supervisory duties as needed/assigned.
May require work performed outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
Minimum of eight (8) years in utility distribution/transmission engineering required.
Electrical engineering knowledge with a focus on substation project testing and commissioning is preferred.
Valid NH driver’s license.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both office and field environments.
Must be available to travel between NH/CT/MA as necessary.
Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
