Role and Scope of Position:Supervises and coordinates the work performed by building maintenance personnel to operate, repair and maintain safe, efficient and reliable Company office and service buildings and associated equipment.
Essential Functions:
With limited supervision:
- Supervises and assigns responsibilities of building maintenance personnel in installing, repairing and maintaining a variety of mechanical, electrical, carpentry and plumbing functions at designated Company-owned and leased office and service facilities.
- Supervises and assigns responsibilities for property inspections, and the receipt, assembly, repair and moving of furniture and equipment.
- Orders, issues and accounts for materials, tools, equipment and supplies to enable efficient operation, repair and maintenance of Company buildings and associated equipment.
- Coordinates the work performed by building maintenance personnel with outside contractors or vendors.
- Supervises the provision of emergency courier service for immediate delivery of packages to various business locations.
- Performs the duties of a Building Mechanic.
- Recommends and implements alternative solutions to reduce or eliminate building operation and maintenance problems.
- Provides training to and instructs others within the department; Plans, schedules and reviews work performed and evaluates subordinates
- Identifies appropriate procedural methods; and make decisions based on analysis of information
- Works effectively with subordinates; superiors, interfacing departments and vendors
- Analyzes operational methods and develops improved procedures as needed
- Interprets Company policies, procedures and practices
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Complete working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, principles and procedures relating to operation and maintenance of designated facilities.
- Ability to implement programs for the operation and maintenance of Company building and associated equipment.
- Communicate effectively and follow instructions.
- Perform basic math functions and mechanical aptitude.
- Use of hand and power tools.
- Follow detailed written operating instructions.
- Read blueprints, apply electrical theory, and identify appropriate procedural methods.
- Reason and make decisions based on analysis of information.
- Ability to interface with departments, vendors and contractors.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- The annual salary for this position is $109,179.20 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid motor vehicle’s license
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
