Senior Security Agent

Role and Scope of Position:
Responsible for the safeguarding and security of Eversource assets, employees and visitors to Eversource System facilities. Analyzes security documents and manuals and maintains appropriate levels of control.

Essential Functions: 

  • Investigates complaints of security violations and/or criminal activity of assigned area within Eversource.
  • Coordinates actions of local law enforcement, federal agencies and security forces as needed.
  • Records and maintains data associated with security incidents.
  • Monitors Eversource’s compliance with all applicable government regulations and requirements related to Eversource’s security.
  • Supports as requested, CCTV and access control system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Implements regular reviews of the Security area’s compliance-based functions (such as policies, procedures, practices, reporting) to ensure consistent adherence and recommends/implements changes and/or needed improvements.
  • Participates in regular audits of Eversource’s security system.
  • Provides guidance to Eversource staff regarding security regulations and procedures.
  • Conducts security-related training programs.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and industry-related legislation.
  • Promotes and encourages a positive, cooperative, efficient and secure work atmosphere.
  • Guides team members when challenging situations are encountered and helps them to be successful.
  • Develops/maintains relationships with governmental organizations, community leaders and other Security-related organizations to facilitate strong community relationships, leverage common goals and objectives and further the mission of Eversource.
  • Participates in inter-disciplinary projects and coordinates common work efforts.
  • Identifies and communicates emerging issues within assigned areas to manager.
  • Continually strives for process improvement.
  • Maintains productive relationships with customer leaders – comes to understand customers’ needs and concerns – works to translate those needs and concerns into solutions.
  • Handles customer crisis/urgent problems as situations arise; seeks ways to mitigate situations so that crises and problems are minimized.
  • Supports Security Central Monitoring Station. 
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging Internet technologies; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for physical plant security improvements.
  • Accomplishes Eversource organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

Required Knowledge:

  • Electronic/computerized security systems
  • Criminal laws and statutes
  • Law enforcement procedures
  • Safety practices in a Corporate setting

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of current state of the art security system software and applications including building access control systems, CCTV camera systems, video analytics, IDS (intrusion detection systems)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand large Access Control and CCTV systems and audio.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including Windows operating systems and MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple large projects accurately and efficiently and adapt to changing Eversource Corporate Security needs.
  • Ability to Train Eversource Corporate Security team members and contract security guards on basic operations of systems.

Skills:

  • Spoken and written communication skills
  • Strong functional understanding of computerized business systems, specifically electronic/computerized security systems
  • Demonstrated skill with MS Office Applications
  • Business acumen

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Law Enforcement, equivalent discipline or equivalent experience                  

Experience:        

  • Minimum of five (5) or more years related experience in Security or Law Enforcement or demonstrated commensurate work experience required                                                                                  

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver’s license
  • Certifications in security related disciplines (i.e., CPP, PSP, etc.) preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$107,820.00-$119,800.00

Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment.  This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
