Locations: Manchester, New Hampshire

This role plays a vital part in maintaining NH System Operations electric schematics, diagrams and one-lines consistent with real time conditions, ensuring operator tools and displays incorporate Human Performance principles into their design. This role also performs other functions associated with operation of NH System Operations department.

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Essential Functions: 

  • Develops or oversees the development of detailed designs using conventional or computer-aided techniques for various types of drawings.
  • Support control room operations with schematics and displays as assigned by management
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and displays to support real-time system operations, including Distribution System Operators.
  • Utilize databases and reporting such as Power BI to provide data analytics and procedures to teams and internal users for critical reporting needs.
  • Facilitate the implementation of system operations processes, strategies, and procedures.
  • Revises and publishes Electric System Operations one-line and switching diagrams.
  • Identifies procedural and regulatory changes and makes necessary modifications to Electric System Operations one-line and switching diagrams.
  • Coordinates with Eversource departments, ISO-NE, neighboring utilities, Member Companies and Member Participants to exchange information necessary for the creation and updating of Electric System Operations one-line and switching diagrams.
  • Performs periodic reviews of Electric System Operations one-line and switching diagrams, to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordinates with internal departments to ensure one-line and switching diagrams are in alignment with OMS and GIS.
  • Recommends enhancements to Electric System Operations one-line and switching diagrams to meet the needs of the System Operator and improve human performance.
  • Represents System Operations at meetings, on committees and at conferences as required.
  • Participates in event review teams and prepare incident analyses as requested by operations management.
  • Provides documentation, gathers evidence, and participates in compliance audits.
  • Utilize Excel and Pi data link along with other databases to support visualization of information.
  • Creates Purchase Orders using Maximo.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution electric system operations.
  • Knowledge of functions of the various components that make up the Eversource electric system.
  • Symbols and terminology used in civil or electronic engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with document management systems.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI and Microsoft Excel, including creating spreadsheets, charts, and complex formulas.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Communicate and work effectively with personnel at various levels within Eversource and external parties.

Education:    Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:   Three to five years of experience in document management, data analysis, graphic design, report development or engineering design, preferably in a utility or regulated industry.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$86,400.00-$96,000.00
