Supervisor Trainee, LNG/LPG
03/28/2025Locations: Ludlow, Massachusetts; Waterbury, Connecticut
Role and Scope of Position:This position is a management development and training opportunity that leads to a supervisory position. Reporting to Eversource/HOPCO/EGMA LNG management, this position is responsible to learn and support the LNG and Eversource corporate objectives set to ensure that all Eversource Gas of Massachusetts LNG/LPG facilities are maintained and operated safely and reliably while strictly adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
LNG/LPG:
- Develops the skills to supervise subordinate employees:
- Assign duties aligned with LNG/LPG operations department objectives,
- Set performance goals.
- Perform employee performance reviews and employee differentiation
- Review and approve subordinate time,
- Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates.
- Establishes and promotes a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility.
- Assists with developing and implementing necessary training programs for LNG/LPG operations staff in accordance with 49 CFR 193/192.
- Ensures that the facility documents are developed, reviewed, and implemented in an efficient manner.
- Evaluates operational training programs on a regular basis to ensure they have the necessary core competencies to carry out operational and maintenance requirements.
- Communicates with federal, state, and local regulators
- Coordinates and communicates with plant operations, engineering departments and external stakeholders.
- Certifies that Eversource corporate requirements are communicated to staff and that policies are implemented and followed.
- Manages and oversees any 3rd party contracts supporting Eversource LNG facilities.
- Networks with LNG operations personnel to share lessons learned, experiences, and knowledge to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Ensures regulatory compliance for Federal Energy Regulatory, Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities inspections.
- Participates/performs regulatory audits at all facilities, document and track results and work with plant supervisors and engineers to overcome compliance deficiencies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Gas Operations
- Requires a demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts. Also requires strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
Gas Engineering
- Strong leadership and administrative abilities.
- Creativity to develop compliance programs from scratch with limited assistance.
- Ability to establish a culture of safety, reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Effective communication with different groups, including operations staff, maintenance staff, engineering departments, human resources, federal, state, and local regulators, external stakeholders, and other Eversource corporate groups.
- Familiar with the overall operation of natural gas distribution companies.
- Ability to clearly and effectively write, implement, and maintain manuals and procedures.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, related discipline or equivalent related experience
Experience:
- Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience

Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $78,440.00 to $87,150.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Work is performed in an office environment which requires sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office area, as well as in the field in varied conditions and at job sites, service centers and customer premises.
- This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing.
