Field Service Representative

POSITION SUMMARY

Records readings of watt-hour meters and associated demand attachments, obtains probed and radio frequency data, and performs credit and collection activities.  Connects, disconnects, installs, removes, and inspects self-contained single phase watt-hour meters.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Collects readings both manually and automated of watt-hour and demand meters for completion of field meter orders, missed cycle reads or other purposes

Obtains probed meter and usage data.

Performs credit and collection activities.

Installs/removes single-phase self-contained watt-hour meters, including those associated with the sample test program.

Connects/disconnects single-phase self-contained watt-hour meters.

Connects/disconnects A‑base meters.

Seals meters and associated equipment.

Reports damage or evidence of tampering with meters or wiring.

Utilizes all mainframe computer applications as necessary.

Performs field investigations.

Installs and removes recording voltmeters.

Performs monthly meter inventory.

May be asked to perform the duties of an AMR Driver.  

Performs other duties as assigned.

This position will have storm restoration and emergency assignments

TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS (Minimum)

Training and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Prior electric utility experience preferred.

The salary range for this position starts at Step 1, $29.91 and progresses in accordance with the union contract.

Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply electrical theory.  Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.  The proven abilities to:  perform work safely and with minimum supervision in adverse weather conditions: present a professional image and communicate tactfully and effectively with customers; follow instructions.  Clerical perception.

License(s)/Certificate(s):  Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.  A proven, safe driving record is required.

Knowledge of geographical area is desirable.
