Stockhandler Helper

The individual will be responsible for warehousing and stocking of various materials, including maintaining accurate material tracking through an inventory management system. The selected candidate will perform preloading/packing of material on trucks and unloading of any/all items to be warehoused; coordinate accurate stocking of material as defined; and carry out order functions as requested. Individual will be responsible for the movement of material which may include, but is not limited to, operating a forklift, hand truck, cart, or any other equipment that is used to perform warehousing duties; will be responsible to pick orders using ladders, where the ability to work at heights is necessary; coordinate with responsible parties to verify ordered equipment where accuracy is in question; and to report any concerns regarding damaged/potentially damaged materials to the appropriate individual. The selected candidate will be responsible for lifting and lowering of stock weighing between up to 70 pounds (at times) and 50 pounds on a frequent basis; utilizing an inventory management system; coordinating orders and deliveries with responsible individuals; verifying stock accuracy if requested; and receiving storeroom inventory and reordering materials. The use of handheld scanning technology to process stores transactions as well as a personal computer is required. The successful candidate will be required to be trained on and satisfactorily complete the Eversource Time Merit Progression (TMP) program established for bargaining unit stockhandlers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehousing and stocking of various materials.
  • Maintain accurate material tracking through an inventory management system.
  • Preload/pack material on trucks and unload items to be warehoused.
  • Coordinate accurate stocking of material as defined.
  • Carry out order functions as requested.
  • Operate a forklift, hand truck, cart, or other equipment for warehousing duties.
  • Pick orders using ladders and work at heights.
  • Verify ordered equipment for accuracy.
  • Report concerns regarding damaged or potentially damaged materials.
  • Lift and lower stock weighing up to 70 pounds and 50 pounds frequently.
  • Utilize handheld scanning technology for processing stores transactions.
  • Coordinate orders and deliveries with responsible individuals.
  • Verify stock accuracy if requested.
  • Receive storeroom inventory and reorder materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience handling stock and materials.
  • Fork truck experience required.
  • Ability to use hand trucks, carts, and various other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to physically lift and move material of up to 70 pounds at times and 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work at various heights.
  • Ability to stand or walk during the entire duration of the shift.
  • Computer literacy and general PC ability to send and receive email, utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively utilize handheld scanning technology.
  • Good math skills and effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license May be required to job site report to other work centers. Reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL B within 6 months of start date.
  • The selected candidate must be available for emergency response duties as required and work in accordance with Eversource safety policies and procedures.
