Job Description SummaryThis position is responsible for evaluating capital projects to specific Transmission and Distribution needs. Perform QA/QC processes across the Eversource three state electric transmission and distribution companies; reviewing scopes of capital projects, interfacing with engineering, operations, major projects, and other key stakeholders, to support capital initiatives in an effort to improve system reliability.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full-time in the office.
This position is responsible for evaluating capital projects to specific Transmission and Distribution needs. Perform QA/QC processes across the Eversource three state electric transmission and distribution companies; reviewing scopes of capital projects, interfacing with engineering, operations, major projects, and other key stakeholders, to support capital initiatives in an effort to improve system reliability.
Essential Functions:
Manage overall quality assurance processes that evaluates all aspect of the project life-cycle
Review and evaluate the technical merit of solutions to specific transmission and distributions needs
Support competency development in emerging transmission competitive environment as it relates to project solution development
Manage the project approval tracking database to ensure timely approval
Support project quality assurance processes that evaluates all aspect of the project life-cycle
Coordinate with transmission stakeholders to establish and implement QA/QC into processes and projects
Liaison between engineering, finance, project management, siting, transmission and distribution operations to maximize efficiency of the project life cycle process
Support competency development in emerging transmission competitive environment at it relates to project solution developing
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
Familiarity with power related software is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Experience: 3+ years related experience is required. Electrical Engineering experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: None
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Depending on the specific nature of the engineering role, position may require occasional to significant travel by car. A valid driver’s license is required.
