In this role within the energy efficiency department, you will supervise a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants (EECs) who are implementing Energy Efficiency projects for Eversource’s residential customers in Connecticut. The team also includes Energy Efficiency Administrators who are responsible for customer application and lead processing. Your successful residential program delivery involves coordinating with Avangrid staff through a statewide approach. You will be responsible for ensuring that the electric and natural gas programs for this segment of customers are deployed in a customer-centric and cost-efficient manner that drives high levels of customer participation and ensures that internal and external service metrics are met to deliver high customer satisfaction. As a supervisor, you will provide the strategy and vision to inspire and drive creative and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, problem solve and provide professional development to a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants and Administrators to create and deliver effective energy efficiency programs that benefit residential customers
  • Oversee the overall implementation of projects for residential customers to ensure achievement of energy efficiency savings and program budget goals & metrics
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps that advance sustainable energy efficiency practices amongst residential customers across Eversource’s three-state territory
  • Approach opportunities, problems, and process improvement initiatives creatively
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders. This includes marketing, internal management team, and Eversource MA and NH Residential program leadership
  • Select and manage qualified contracted services for program implementation and lead EECs to ensure high quality vendor performance
  • Work with stakeholders to identify, promote and administer new and innovative approaches to blend energy efficiency with other initiatives and opportunities, including state and federally funded programs
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with Avangrid program administrators including United Illuminating, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Southern Connecticut Gas

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong business and operations management skills, and analytical skills
  • Strong team and thought leadership skills
  • Proven success in developing staff through mentoring, education, and challenging assignments
  • Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency technologies and understand their application
  • Experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written correspondence and public speaking
  • Solid project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities
  • Goal and objective-driven, including adeptness with removing obstacles and barriers while remaining collaborative with many internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to approach opportunities for improvement creatively, and act on new ideas with the objective of providing more value added to the customer

Education

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience 
  • An advanced degree is desirable

Licenses & Certifications

  • Relevant energy efficiency certifications desired (BPI, CEM etc.,)

Experience

  • Eight (8) plus years of experience, with knowledge of residential building systems
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Experience in presentations and public speaking desired
  • Experience in energy efficiency program implementation preferred
