Senior, Planner and Scheduler Transmission Vegetation Management (Hybrid)

Role and Scope of Position:
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the Operations field workload through accurate forecasting, staffing calculations, scheduling and management reports. Creates, maintains and upgrades short and long-term staffing models and trending forecasts to improve the efficiency of the Operations area. Prepares work schedules for district operations through analysis of projected workload, resource requirements and prescribed time frames. Ensures that workplans and schedules facilitate timely and cost-effective completion of all capital workload including new business, compliance and mandated work, system reliability, and maintenance and construction. Responsible for obtaining, providing and implementing information and recommendations to meet Operations goals and positively influence project direction. Determine critical path activities and assist management in determining resource requirements to minimize schedule impacts. Monitor and analyze actual schedule against target schedule to forecast project results.

Role and Scope of Position:

With an important level of independence, plan transmission Vegetation Management projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Collaborate closely with personnel throughout the Eversource Company to site, permit, and complete assigned projects. Primary duties include coordination of surveying, permitting, outreach, work, progress meeting with minutes and project close out for Vegetation Management programs, especially the Transmission ROW Reliability Program (TRRP).

Essential Functions: 

  • Utilizes system and scheduling techniques, practices and criteria to develop, maintain, analyze, and evaluate best approaches; anticipates changes and recommends solutions.

  • Coordinate permitting approvals and interface with work departments, project engagement, project management, line management, and contract personnel, as required.

  • Assist Transmission Vegetation Management staff to ensure all activities are completed safely, on time, within budget and to Eversource specification and adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and best management practices (BMP).

  • Attend kick-off meetings with contractors to review the scope of work, contract requirements, and schedule.

  • Coordinate and participate in periodic program and project meetings, including ROW work coordination meetings.

  • Evaluate change requests from contractors and assist TVM in evaluation and execution.

  • Analyzes proposed project schedule versus actual completed tasks; participates in self-assessments and prompt adequate resolution of identified issues.

  • Demonstrates the willingness to report and contribute to the resolution of employee concerns supportive of positive, honest, and open exchange of ideas and differing opinions.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Ability to develop spreadsheets, databases and demonstrate the capability to transfer data between various Eversource applications and platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, analyze data, write effective reports, and make presentations. 

  • Possess the ability to cope with deadlines, manage time, set, and manage priorities, define roles and responsibilities, and make decisions. 

  • Ability to run meetings, motivate others, and interact with others at all levels of the organization. 

  • The ability to schedule, plan and manage numerous complex transmission projects concurrently.

  • Initiative-taker with effective communication skills, including active listening, speaking, and writing skills.   

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, business administration, forestry, or related degree or equivalent experience.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of planning and scheduling experience required.  

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Certification as planning professional is desirable.

  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required.         

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.

  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires visits to job sites on an as needed basis.  Job can require spending time driving to different geographic locations.    

  • Limited travel will be required between offices, project sites, and stakeholder locations. Work will require visiting field construction sites including utility Rights-of-Way. 

  • Attends to problems in off-hours and for extended periods, if necessary.

$114,350.00-$127,060.00
