Program Support, Energy Efficiency (Hybrid)

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise to support the development and management of complex energy efficiency and decarbonization programs in the residential, commercial, and low/moderate income customer segments across the Eversource territory. This position is responsible for helping to develop and maintain program incentive offers by leading collaboration with internal groups such as engineering, sales, implementation, planning, and evaluation and by creating technical policies, savings calculators, and program aides.  The development of new offers must include consideration of novel approaches and market-driven strategies to streamline program delivery and assist in achieving energy savings goals effectively.

This position also involves being an Eversource representative on statewide committees with other program administrators and interacts with regulators and stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position.

Essential Functions: 

Thought Leadership (60%)

  • Display a broad range of industry knowledge as an energy efficiencysubject matter expert and applies knowledge to develop innovative new offers and policies for complex energy efficiency and decarbonization measures such as refrigerant leak management, early refrigerant swap out and existing building commissioning for commercial and industrial customers. Deploy innovation and product development efforts in collaboration with other program administrators.

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on program offerings and policies, such as weatherization eligibility requirements and incentive levels for residential customers.

  • Lead the coordination and integration of feedback from customers, program administrators,advisory consultants, and vendors/contractorsfor energy efficiency program development activitiesinvolved in program development and optimization.

  • Actively participate in various regional committees (Consortium of Energy Efficiency, CT Energy Efficiency Board, etc.) to develop new standards and protocols furthering energy efficiency and decarbonization. 

  • Present at regional events regarding the company’s energy efficiency, decarbonization, demand reduction and climate change initiatives to maintain and enhance Eversource’s brand as an industry leader in sustainability focused efforts.

Analytical (30%)

  • Analyze and evaluate developments in energy efficiency, decarbonization and demand response programsand policies across the region to identify how different scenarios may impact thedelivery of the statewide energy efficiency and decarbonization programs.

  • Assist and coordinate work on the development of project eligibility standards andparticipation processes to improve program delivery,such as clarifying the minimum efficiency requirements for heat pumps. This requires an understanding of extensive engineeringanalysis/calculations, product delivery approach, andimplementation strategy for new technologies.

Administrative (10%)

  • On an as needed basis while securing outside consulting services, execute the budgeting, invoicing, and tracking of expenses. Lead the development of Request for Proposals for contracted lead vendor or consultation services when applicable.

  • Manage the development and coordination of documents and plans to support technical aspects offilingswith regulatory oversight bodies.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge & Skillset:

  • In-depth knowledge and capability with Microsoft office suite, including but not limited to Power Point and Excel.

  • Strong Leadership, Communication and Collaboration skills that will support relationship building across different states and program partners

  • In-depth experience in sustainability, energy engineering, energy efficiency and decarbonization operations andprogram design

  • Core competency in building science and mechanical systems

  • Familiarity with energy policy, national and local building codes, appliance standards andeligibility for residential, commercialand industrial customers.

  • Ability to evaluate the feasibilitythe implementation and scaling of a technology considering the technical and economic impacts

  • Stakeholder engagement with ability to communicate complex issues appropriately

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in data analytics, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.

  • Master’s degree or similar educational experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in technical marketing, sales, engineering,project management, or energy efficiency services

  • Master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Engineer in Training (EIT) are preferred

$93,650.00-$104,060.00
