Manager, Clean Energy Billing
09/18/2025 Locations Berlin-CT; Windsor-CT; Westwood-MA; Manchester-NHThis is a highly visible, cross-functional role that will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for clean energy billing, ensuring alignment between regulatory requirements, internal capabilities, and customer expectations.

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
- Lead billing strategy and execution for clean energy programs across CT, MA, and NH.
- Act as the primary liaison between Billing, Distributed Generation (DG), Solar, and Contact Center teams.
- Ensure all clean energy billing processes align with company capabilities and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of new programs such as:
- CT: SCEF (Residential live, Commercial upcoming)
- MA: SMART+ Solar, EV rates, cross-utility allocations
- NH: EV rates and Solar tariffs (in development)
- Muni Aggregation billing (MA, NH)
Policy & Regulatory Engagement
- Serve as SME for solar and clean energy billing policy.
- Communicate program changes, rate updates, and tariff modifications to leadership and operational teams.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies on procedural changes, rate filings, and docket responses.
- Monitor and advocate for utility incentive opportunities related to clean energy billing work.
Operational Excellence
- Manage and escalate billing and metering issues related to solar, DG, and Energy Storage Systems.
- Oversee clean energy-related IT and billing system projects (e.g., Grid-X implementation).
- Ensure structured process design and cross-departmental understanding of clean energy billing rules.
- Drive efficiency improvements, such as pre-application meter upgrades to reduce delays.
Training & Communication
- Develop and deliver training for billing and contact center teams on clean energy programs.
- Own internal and external communications related to solar billing.
- Support centralized expertise development (RReBi) across states for new processes, people, and technologies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with state-specific clean energy programs in CT, MA, and NH including programs below:
- CT: SCEF (Residential live, Commercial upcoming)

- Muni Aggregation billing (MA, NH)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and regulatory interactions.
- Experience bridging IT with business requirements and quality controls
- 5+ years of experience in utility billing, clean energy programs, or regulatory operations.
- Strong understanding of solar, EV, and distributed energy resource billing.
- Experience working with union and non-union teams.
- Experience with SAP S4
- Experience with GridX or similar billing platforms.

Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
