Strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, inventory, sundry billing, payroll, and plant accounting. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and related systems. This role will be viewed as a subject matter expert for future rate reviews related to all plant areas, including depreciation, cost of removal and all items of a capital nature.Hybrid Work Policy - Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Essential Functions:
- Drive operational efficiency and automation in accounting processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial decision-making.
- Manage end-to-end processes for operational accounting functions including but not limited to A/P, sundry billing, inventory, payroll, and plant accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Oversee reconciliation of key accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead depreciation study reviews and work with outside experts in developing depreciation curves, including the impact of longer-lived retirements, cost of removal and stranded asset impacts.
- Lead in supporting the development of testimony around all plant related items during a rate review, including being available to testify as a subject matter expert in all jurisdictions where Eversource operates.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses.
- Support initiatives to optimize ERP systems and accounting workflows.
- Identify and implement best practices in transactional accounting, including optimizing the use of Artificial Intelligence or Robotic Process Automation to ensure transparency and streamline workflow on transactional processes.
- Monitor KPIs and metrics to assess performance and drive improvements.
- Develop a strong team and build relationships across finance, shared services and operations organizations.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive process improvements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a shared services or multi-entity environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to mentoring and developing talent.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Background in utility accounting strongly preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- CPA preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing and able to effectively and credibly testify in regulatory proceedings.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results.
