As an Energy Efficiency Consultant working as part of a highly motivated team, you will drive residential customer engagement in new and existing programs as well as identify technologies that support energy-saving solutions for customers. This position is responsible for providing project/program management services for residential customers’ electric and natural gas energy efficiency projects in Connecticut. Through your regular interactions with external stakeholders, energy efficiency contractors, engineers, and internal teammates, including marketing and regulatory compliance, you will accomplish residential sector energy saving goals and help lower the state’s carbon emissions.
Essential Functions
- Provide direction to business partners, such as contracted vendors, and residential customers on energy efficiency strategies and systems. EECs are responsible for direct management of HES & HES-IE vendors
- Review and approve moderately complex projects/programs, which require an understanding of technical analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for energy-efficient technologies, and application of program processes and procedures. Common energy efficiency measures include insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, windows, and home energy audits.
- Manage the integration of activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendor/contractors.
- Develop documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of customer funded Energy Efficiency programs.
- Ensure that all projects and programs are accurate and in compliance with regulatory guidelines - reviews project documentation and program applications to confirm all required and supporting materials are provided in order to fulfill program participation parameters.
- Participate in the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, analysis, and tracking of expenses and energy savings; assists with the development of RFPs for contracted services.
- Facilitate achievement of energy efficiency goals by promoting demand-reduction initiatives to assigned customers/customer segments and/or programs.
- Maintain strong financial controls through program processes and ensures follow through on program design commitments.
- Drive the customer engagement process, which involves motivating our vendor network, collaborating with a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants, and working cross-functionally across Eversource internal departments.
- Assists in invoicing and tracking of expenses and energy savings; assists with the preparation of RFPs for contracted services
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency / renewable technologies and services and understand their application.
- Requires solid understanding of financial principals.
- The ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel). Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills
- Adept at providing superior customer service
Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an energy efficiency related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience:
- One (1) plus year(s) of relevant experience in technical marketing, project management, engineering, or energy efficiency.
- BPI Building Analyst-Technician or Building Analyst-Professional certifications are preferred but not required
