STARTING RATE OF PAY: $43.67
CURRENTLY POSTED HOURS: 7:00AM – 3:30PM
SCHEDULE: M-F
**Union Represented Position**
DESCRIPTION:
The Corrosion Technician performs technical tasks to support the Company’s cathodic protection program for natural gas distribution facilities. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining corrosion control systems through testing, inspections, and minor repairs. The role also involves initiating work orders for recommended improvements and maintenance to ensure compliance with all Federal regulations.
This is primarily a field-based position, requiring work in environments with high traffic, construction site hazards, and customer premises. It is classified as a safety-sensitive role, subject to random drug testing and Federal Operator Qualification requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.
Certifications: Ability to successfully complete Eversource Operator Qualification tests and Time Merit Progression steps to achieve full Corrosion Technician certification within three years.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of corrosion theory and practices.
Comprehensive knowledge of gas maintenance operations and construction.
Familiarity with Federal and State regulations related to corrosion control.
Systems Expertise:
Proficiency in work management systems; working knowledge of GIS systems.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and ability to work independently.
Ability to pass a pre-employment math assessment.
