Eversource's Corporate Relations team is a highly skilled group of professionals who help maintain strategic relationships with several internal and external stakeholder groups. Employees in Corporate Relations work closely with all organizations of the company, keeping the lines of communication open with customers, employees, communities, business leaders, legislators and the media. Our Corporate Relations employees have the opportunity to learn and communicate about a wide spectrum of topics not only related to the energy business but to several other disciplines, issues and topics.

Community Relations

Community Relations is the primary point of contact for all municipal officials and is responsible for developing and nurturing close working relationships with local leaders and governing bodies. This includes mayors and selectmen, city and town managers, councils, boards and commissions, emergency management and public safety personnel, public works directors and planning staff.

Government and Regulatory Affairs

The Government and Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for developing and maintaining trusted relationships with each of the state’s Governor’s offices, their administrations, the states’ Constitutional offices and the state legislatures in Eversource’s service area. Working with the Eversource leadership and business units, the team develops and shepherds the corporate legislative agenda.

Strategic Communications

The Strategic Communications team manages the public face and voice for Eversource and its employees. The team offers tactics and strategies to communicate effectively with Eversource customers and employees and is responsible for company-wide internal and external communications.

Our Environmental Affairs team is focused on meeting or exceeding compliance with environmental regulations to improve air quality, protect water resources, reduce waste and responsibly manage pollutants. We strive to promote sustainability throughout the company and actively work with customers, community members, environmental groups, regulatory agencies, and civic partners to promote transparent operations.

Dedicated staff members also proactively identify and protect cultural, historic and natural resources, and oversee the responsible management of wildlife and vegetation that inhabit our rights of way. This includes protection of migratory birds, turtles, and endangered species.

The following is a snapshot of the innovative work we do:

• Eversource’s partnership with Ørsted, the world’s leading developer and operator of offshore wind facilities, ranks us as North America’s largest developer of offshore wind facilities. Together we’ve already leased offshore areas with the capacity for up to 4,000 MW of offshore wind.
• We’re developing creative energy storage projects that store power for times when it’s most needed. Battery storage can shave peaks, improve customer reliability and resilience, limit the need to upgrade substations, build new lines and other infrastructure, and reduce dependence on some types of fossil-fuel generation plants.
• Eversource owns and operates 22 solar power facilities with 70 megawatts of capacity — the emissions-reducing equivalent of taking 6,000 cars off the road. We also connect to the grid more than 87,000 solar facilities belonging to our customers, totaling more than 1,600 MW of capacity.
• We’re supporting the development of New England’s electric vehicle charging network. Eversource pays all the costs related to electrical infrastructure at a customer’s site, and the customer buys, owns and operates the actual chargers.

The Operations team is the main source of providing our customers with the essential product that makes their lives easier—power. Whether you’re working with electricity or natural gas, you’ll use your mechanical skills in a hands-on job and deliver results to our customers on a daily basis. You’ll work collaboratively with a variety of people and departments and learn about different parts of the business while making a big impact for our customers and communities. You’ll receive a variety of training to help you learn how to do your job safely. Training includes classroom instruction, e-learning, field simulations and on-the-job learning with a peer coach.

Our Operations organization spans a variety of areas—Electric and Gas Operations, Substation Operations, Operations Services, Electric System Operations, Transmission, Emergency Preparedness, Planning & Scheduling, and Engineering, to name a few. We are looking for team players who are enthusiastic, committed to safety, willing to work in challenging situations—like bad weather—and do what it takes to get the job done to ensure our customers have power. Eversource’s Gas Operations team is in a growth mode, looking for professionals who are passionate about their work, to help us build out our gas pipelines to provide clean-burning natural gas to more customers in CT and MA.

As an Eversource Engineer, you’ll work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. We offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the best of both worlds, working both in the office and the field on a variety of interesting projects. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handle the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances, LNG plant and gas distribution.

We provide opportunities to work with the multiple engineering disciplines within Eversource on various projects. Our Engineers are actively involved with the latest technologies and industry advancements, providing support for the connection of renewable generation to the grid for a variety of solar, wind and hydro projects. The scale of these projects range from a few kilowatts to tens or even hundreds of megawatts. As a forward-looking company, Eversource is constantly evaluating the application of new technologies to address the needs of the grid in areas such as battery storage, phasor measurement units, protection relays, and wire and cable technologies.

We salute Eversource’s NH Engineering team that works to develop and design solutions that provide reliable service. Since joining Eversource after graduation, Celine says, "Today, my job includes working closely with other engineering disciplines to create the plans for various substation projects. It’s very interesting, and very enjoyable.” For Substation Design Engineer Dave, “My interest in engineering started early as I tended to enjoy learning about math and science. On a certain level, engineering is all about solving problems, and that is something I have always enjoyed working on.”
