Role and Scope of Position:Responsible for implementing strategic regulatory initiatives and developing and building key regulatory relationships that will enable the development of strong regulatory policy and drive regulatory successes. Works with various business partners across the Company to ensure that regulatory filings and external facing documents are in alignment with regulatory policy positioning.
HYBRID WORK POLICY:
Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Essential Functions:
- Builds and maintains strong and effective relationships with key regulatory stakeholders.
- Identifies opportunities to interact with key stakeholders and communicates the Company’s key initiatives.
- Evaluates regulatory and industry trends, working with cross functional internal teams to develop regulatory positions and new regulatory opportunities to improve the Company’s regulatory relations.
- Communicates regulatory model concepts and supporting logic to leadership.
- Executes regulatory policy for major concepts and filings.
- Works closely with internal and external partners on the development of regulatory proposals for emerging policy issues.
- Leads internal project team meetings between organizations, as well as lead periodic updates to the Company’s leadership.
- Works directly with subject matter experts, to lead development of regulatory strategy.
- Coordinates cross-functional support across Eversource on major initiatives.
- Takes a leadership role in Emergency Response Activations.
- Provides prompt and accurate information to regulators and provides key guidance to the business regarding what regulators support
- Reviews all informational responses that will be submitted to regulators to ensure that it conforms to what regulatory affairs wants
- Interacts with Low Income Advocate, Business Advocates, and other key customer advocates to ensure their concerns in our regulatory filings are being addressed

- Excellent interpersonal skills are critical to this role.
- Organizational skills are necessary to lead multiple projects.
- Experience with building key relationships (externally and internally) and building credibility with key influencers is a priority.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the policy initiative Regulators support.
- A leader comfortable with a high degree of accountability and influence in a dynamic business environment.
- Demonstrate an open, honest communication style and make fact-driven decisions.

- With both an eye for analytics and the ability to focus on the broader landscape, other specific qualifications include:
- Strong analytical skills including experience using both qualitative principals and quantitative analysis to develop regulatory policy.
- Sound business judgment with the ability to take raw analytical findings and present nuanced and seasoned recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong influencing skills to penetrate and work effectively throughout the organization.
- Work well across functional teams and have the leadership/influencing skills to leverage resources, create consensus and lead change.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline or related experience
- Graduate degree in business or engineering is desirable
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience successfully building relationships, leading change, and managing complex projects. Utility industry experience preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Travel is required. Manages multiple projects in multiple locations at one time. This will require visiting multiple locations on a frequent basis including but not limited to attending hearings and technical sessions.
- Attends to problems in off-hours and for extended periods as necessary.
