2026 AMI Data Strategist Intern

As an AMI Data Strategist Intern, you will play a key role in analyzing data from Eversource's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to support strategic decision-making and optimize operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist in the collection, cleaning, and validation of AMI data from various sources.
* Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in energy usage, grid performance, and customer behavior.
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key AMI metrics and communicate insights to stakeholders.
* Support the development of predictive models using AMI data to forecast energy demand, identify potential outages, and optimize asset management.
* Research industry best practices and emerging technologies related to AMI data utilization and smart grid initiatives.
* Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to understand data requirements and integrate AMI insights into business processes.
* Participate in special projects related to AMI deployment, data governance, and analytics strategy.
* Prepare presentations and documentation of findings for internal review.
Job Qualifications
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
* Basic understanding of statistical concepts and their application in data analysis.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Interest in the energy industry and smart grid technologies is highly desirable.
Interns are paid through our Managed Service Provider Program and are not employees of Eversource. Payrates are hourly and based on year of graduation and if the role is technical or non-technical. Technical rates start at $18.12 freshman and up to $22.73 for a senior.
